CAMWEST: Cyclists’ Action Movement West

About Us

What is CAMWEST?

CAMWEST is a group of dedicated cyclists who work with local Councils, the RTA and other bodies that provide for cyclists in Western Sydney.

CAMWEST has played an integral role in the development and implementation of many projects, including the Bay to Mountains Cycleway, as well as the Hawkesbury, Baulkham Hills, Parramatta, Bankstown and Blacktown Bike Plans. Other achievements include: Cycle lanes, stand up lanes and smooth sealed shoulders on main roads.

We have many social rides, (here are some we've organised) but advocacy is our main focus.

About Our Site

This web site is kindly hosted for free by PPS.

It was designed and built by Marty Olmos (CAMWEST member), and now maintained by Nick Urbanik and all feedback about the site should go to him on nicku@nicku.org. He converted the site from a tables layout to one using CSS positioning. He strives to write validating XHTML 1.0 strict, and validating CSS, and to keep the links valid, and separate presentation from content.

This site comes out nicely on a printer!

It was not a massive effort to make it so that this site prints nicely on a printer. Try looking at a print preview and see what I mean. I don't know why other sites don't do such things.

The site was built using GNU's web production tool Emacs  :-).
